this week has been the week when my whole way of thinking shifted.
i still cannot believe how this can happen so fast.
over a period of seven days i went from not even imagining that i could ever not be a witness to wanting to get out of this organisation.. .

Ever since learning TTATT, it is so very difficult being a JW and pretending all is fine. I must hang on because my immediate and extended family is large and heavily invested in this faith. It is super rough on the psyche, though.

i find it hard to believe that adults on this forum make such a big deal about not celebrating birthdays, x-mas, easter, halloween, etc, etc, etc.
i grew up as a jw kid and it actually made me feel good, being different from the other kids in school.

I totally get you. Having grown up in the Spanish congs, it was a blast. So we did not celebrate the popular holidays, but still all the different parties we did celebrate were and continue to be so much fun!
Recently, I heard about one of the fellow Spanish congs got all the kids together and threw a Disney theme party, character dress ups and all! Great food, games, gifts, dancing. Definitely IMO JW kids are by no means less happy growing up than any other groups.
The adults must make sure entertainment is not lacking in their little one's life.

i realize that many here still have a form of spirituality or faith, and i mean no disrespect to those individuals.
i suppose i am posting this question to those, like myself, who have come to the conclusion that religion in general is a major hindrance to the progress of our species and needs to be put aside so that we can advance to our full potential.
so my question is, do you think this will ever actually happen, and how do you think we can get there?
Never. In the absence of a deity, people worship objects, other people, themselves, money, you name it. We humans have that gene of having the need to adore something; God given to keep us dependant? Inexplicable.

id wonder how many wives of servants had the upper hand so to speak, on issues, that of course, were supposed to be private, yet gee lets be honest, husbands and wives talk.

By my experience, none. My elder is quite the heavy in all things JW and all I do is toe the line with a nice smile as best as possible. All the while dreaming of leaving it all behind if he happens to die first. Sometimes my fantasies are more along the lines of asking him out of the blue for a divorce, but I am too chicken to carry it out, plus I do love the guy.

one reason is because the governing body's policies allow them to run loose in the congregation with their secrecy/kangaroo courts.

to keep jehovah's name untarnished(organization sock puppet) they have put the little rank and file member at risk.. one member of the gb was a child molester.. sexual repression also seems to aggravate the situation and make matters worse.. the governing body main concern is not children but how to keep the scam going and so if they can get the victim to shut up and not go to the police as it offers a temporary fix.. etc.....
This question comes from ignorance. Any conglomerate of humans will contain all types of behavior. Any group.

well, the little fraker also called the elders to tell on me.
i know i've been a huge idiot for posting a comment about jw's on facebook, but nonetheless i did it and what's happened, happened.. two idiot elders came all the way from the nearest congo, 30 miles away to talk to me about it.

when jws have called us we say we are amazing, everything is awesome much to their shock.
His dare they discredit college when on our dime they have sent and continue to send bethelites to college to get law degrees and other schooling necessary to serve them???!!! HYPOCRITE JERKS!!!
